Plunge Point Control

The initial plunge point within a pocket can be controlled by placing a rapid move at the begin of the curve that represents the pocket boundary. The tool plunges at the begin of the rapid move and then moves to the calculated start point of the pocket. Gouge checking is not in effect during this movement. It is the operator’s responsibility to place the plunge point safely. Regardless of whether a designated or calculated plunge point is used, a point entity is created at the plunge location when the toolpath is verified, so that a pre-drilling Work Step can be more easily located there if desired.
