A Check Surface is a user-created surface that is used as a boundary to prevent undesirable tool motion in particular portions of the machining surfaces. A Check Surface must intersect the machining surface, and should be made significantly larger than the machining surface so that EZ-MILL has no trouble identifying the intersection of the two surfaces.
Each Check Surface has a Start On parameter associated with it. If multiple Check Surfaces are used, different combinations of the Start On settings will produce different tool paths.
Check Surface Rules:
Check surfaces must not have sharp convex edges.
Check surfaces should be larger than the machining surface so that it cannot be missed.
The tool path cannot intersect a patch in two places.
Check surfaces are only used when machining surfaces.
A surface cannot be used as a surface to be machined and as check surface at the same time (same Work Step).
