This command automatically creates one or more closed curves by slicing through a set of previously imported part surfaces. It computes intersections of all visible surfaces with the XZ plane of the current UCS at a specified Y offset distance and finally converts them into curve entities. Each separate profile is created as one closed curve entity. A profile number is appended to the input curve name. The resulting curves are automatically optimized with arcs replacing linear moves whenever possible.

Procedure:
Select the XZ Intersection command from the Curves menu.
Insert
a new Curve ID for the new intersection
curve
Insert
the offset value in the
field of the Value Entry Box
and press ENTER to start calculation.
Note
The tolerance used to compute the intersection curve is automatically derived from the "Chain Tolerance" specified in the Setup dialog by multiplying with a factor of 10.
Use the Generate Geometry command to convert the curves to editable geometry that can be further manipulated to fit the required machining needs.
