Surface Cycle

This cycle performs flow machining on a single surface. The tool moves parallel to the links which make up the surface, "flowing" with its shape. The tool path direction (set with the Direction parameter in 3D Cycle Data Tab can be either transverse or longitudinal, or both.

The Surface cycle is useful for removing a finishing allowance after a roughing operation. The Surface cycle can also be used for roughing a surface by setting the Z Step parameter so that multiple passes are made at decreasing Z levels.
