Graphic Example: Draft Angle & Contouring Cycle

The graphic below shows the computed tool path when machining a tapered sidewall using the Contouring cycle. At the end of each lead out move, the system retracts the tool to the Z rapid plane before returning to the start of the following pass along the sidewall.

Note

All possible ramp/lead combinations can be used in combination with the Contouring Cycle.

Important

Please note that tapered tools are only simulated when using the 3D Preview command. As shown on the leftmost graphic above, the Verify command will show no difference between usage of flat or tapered tools
