Lead Parameters

Cycle: Contouring

The Lead In parameters specify a linear move into the workpiece, or before the Ramp In arc move so that Cutter Compensation can be turned on. Very often the Lead settings are used in combination with Cutter Compensation to guaranty linear approach and retract moves necessary to activate and cancel the compensation. Lead Status

The options in this list box allow to activate/deactivate any of the available lead combination. This way the settings don't have to be set to 0 if not used. The available options are Off / In / Out / In & Out.

When selecting the Open option, the 'Length' and 'Angle' settings are deactivated and the path curve itself is extended by a fixed distance ( 0.6 x Tool Diameter ).

In Length / In Angle

The length determines the distance the tool is moved while the angle is specified with respect to an optional 'Ramp In' arc, or the first path move if no Ramp is specified.

Out Length / Out Angle

The length determines the distance the tool is moved while the angle is specified with respect to an optional 'Ramp Out' arc, or the last path move if no Ramp is specified.

Note

When 2D Gouge Check setting is activated, all Lead and Ramp moves are checked when the tool path is verified. When gouging situations are detected, the moves are automatically clipped to safe lengths.
