Cycle: Contouring
The Ramp Parameters establish values which the system uses to calculate and automatically create ramp-in and ramp-out moves during a Contouring cycle. These parameters allow you to specify arc moves at the beginning and end of the programmed path. These moves are also performed with each contour pass if multiple passes are set using the Total Stock and related parameters for contour parallel roughing operations. If multiple contour passes are defined, a rapid move to the Ramp In or Lead In position is placed after the Ramp Out or Lead Out move.
The Ramp In parameters specify a tangent arc move into the workpiece at the beginning of the tool path.
In Radius specifies the radius of the arc measured to the tool center.
In Angle specifies the sweep angle of the arc as it moves into the workpiece.
The Ramp Out parameters specify a tangent arc move out of the workpiece at the end of the tool path.
Out Radius specifies the radius of the arc.
Out Angle specifies the sweep angle of the arc as it moves out of the workpiece.
Note
When 2D Gouge Check setting is activated, all Lead and Ramp moves are checked when the tool path is verified. When gouging situations are detected, the moves are automatically clipped to safe lengths.
