The tool length value is used as a user reference and has no affect on the computed toolpath itself. The 3D Preview animation also uses the length setting for tool display. If length is left as 0, the preview animation will use block height + tool diameter.

Important |
In combination with the taper angle tool setting, the length is also used to calculate the outside tool diameter. For more information see the Taper Angle topic. |
