Step

This parameter determines the incremental depth from the Z surface for roughing applications. A duplicate of the initial tool pass is performed at this incremental depth from the last pass, stepping down until the Z Depth level is reached. The tool rapid-traverses up and over any sections of a surface that have been machined by a previous roughing step. If the Step parameter is set to zero, then only one tool pass is performed, placing the tool at the Z Depth level.

For Drilling Cycles, this parameter determines the initial plunge move of the drilling tool.

For The Constant Z cycle this parameter can be entered as a positive or negative value.  If entered as positive the cuts will be ordered from top to bottom, and if entered as negative from bottom to top.

The system reduces step size when necessary in order to machine the horizontal planar surfaces for the Constant Z Cycle. Then it continues with full step value until subsequent horizontal planes or final depth is reached.
