Flat, Ball, Bull Tools
This setting is used to specify the side angle of tapered tools. It is only applicable in combination with the tool Type option set to Flat, Ball and Bull. The top tool radius is calculated automatically according the specified bottom diameter and length.

Drill, Spot Tools
Drill and Spot tools include a tip Angle parameter. When a tip Angle is specified the 3D Preview simulation will show the tool tip and the Auto Depth option will add the drill tool tip length to the specified Depth.
Below you can see the various combinations of the settings for drilling tools.

Important |
By default, all milling cycles (Contouring, Pocketing & Zig-Zag) use the bottom diameter to calculate the tool offset. If you want EZCAM to care for the increased offset diameter that is caused by the taper angle, you need to insert the same angle into the Draft Angle setting, located on the Cycle Data dialog. Please also note that tapered tools are only simulated when using the 3D Preview command. |
