Groove Cycle

The Groove cycle is used to machine slots of any profile. In comparison to the Turn, Face, or Bore cycles, Groove performs "plunging" operations, finishing each depth level along the profile before continuing to the next depth. If desired, a final finish pass can be applied to remove steps left over from the previous roughing operation. Please note that any specified finish allowance stays on the profile and needs to be removed with a subsequent work step.

If one Work Step ID is defined with multiple grooves, the inclination of each groove (within that Work Step) and that of the tool must be the same. The Groove cycle supports computed and canned modes. It is also possible to combine the canned cycle with a computed finish.
