How To:  Create new Work Steps

There are four alternative ways to create new Work Steps:

  1. Select the Data... command from the Machining menu to open the Work Step Data dialog. After creating the new Work Step with the New button, select the machining cycle and assign the path curve you want to machine. Input tool related settings on the Tool Info tab and the cycle specific parameters on the Cycle Data tab of the Work Step Data dialog.

  2. If you want to create a new Work Step that uses the same cycle and/or tool settings as an already existing one, simply copy the existing Work Step using the integrated spreadsheet. See Copying of Work Steps (using the spreadsheet) for more information.

  3. Select the New Work Step command from the spreadsheet menu. Please note that this command can only be used for Work Steps using the standard cycles. For the extended style cycles use Option 1 (Mill & Turn) or Option 4 (Turn - Live Tool Cycles).

  4. EZ-TURN: To create a new Work Step that uses one of the TurnMill (Live Tool) features, simply select the desired feature from the Automation menu (expl: "New_Curve_Milling") or select the corresponding icon from one of the toolbars.
